Sayeed Ibn Ameer (RA) the governor of Hims a companion of the prophet (sm) was a very Allah fearing and responsible man. Hazrat Omar (RA) was a very opinion of him. One day Omar Stopped in Hims on his way to Syria. The people of Hims gave him warm welcome. He wanted to know about their governor after their exchange. They made four serious allegations against the governor. He was surprised to hear allegations against such an honest and responsible man. He sought Allah's help. He prayed to Allah, Do not let my high opinion of Sayeed fade away. Then he brought together the people of Hims and their governor Sayeed. Omar (RA) said, "What is your first complaint about governor. They replied. The governor is come to office a little late everyday. Omar said to Sayeed "What is your opinion about this? He remained Silent for a while. Then he said that the matter is very personal So I didn't say anyone. I have no servants for my family. I get up every morning and make a bread for the whole family. Then take a bath and come to the office. Omar said that the second complaint is? They said, He don't meet anyone at night. In reply Sayeed (RA) said that this matter is also my personal. I have set the day for man and night for Allah. I worship Allah at night. So I can't meet anyone. The third allegation against the governor was that he did not come to the office once a month. In response to Omar (RA)'s question, he said, "since we have no servants. I go to the market oneday a month and wear only one dress. When I came to the market I washed my cloths and wait until it dries. Then I meet everyone at the end of the day. Hazrat Omar (RA) wanted to know about their fourth complaint. They said he sometimes lost his consciousness. And cannot recognize anyone. Sayeed (RA) said, Khubaib was crucified infront of me while I was Dis believer. The disbelievers were cutting off his limbs and asking him Do you want to bring your Prophet Muhammad (sm) to your place and set you free. Khubaib replied, "by Allah! I am safe with my family and I will not tolerate a cut under my prophet's feet instead. Sayeed said, " I didn't help him that day. I think Allah and his prophet Muhammad (sm) will never forgive me for that. When I remember this I lost my consciousness with fear. Hazrat Omar (RA) was very impressed to hear all the answers of Sayeed. He said all praise is due to Allah who has made my correction twards Sayeed a reality.
